Download or read book Christian, the Choice Is Yours written by Ron McNeel and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2013-02-20 with total page 157 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Life is all about choices. You choose where to live, your occupation, spouse, and the names of your children - just to highlight a few. Some choices are easy to make, while others are difficult and require a lot of thought and consideration. Some choices lead to good outcomes while others do not. The best choice an individual could ever make is to receive Christ as personal Savior. That decision guarantees the believer a home in Heaven with God for eternity. Although the eternal issue is settled, there are many choices that face the believer during his/her journey through life. These choices will not alter the believer's eternal destiny, but can have a major impact on the quality and effectiveness of the Christian life. Wrong choices made by the believer can result in a life that is marred by defeat and unhappiness. This book is about personal choices for the believer. Although the principles presented in this book are for all Christians, the words are directed to you for self-examination. Victory in your Christian life will be determined by the choices you make. God has a plan for your life and a way to achieve it, but Satan also has a plan. Whose plan you follow depends on your choices. This battle over control of your life will continue until you are finally at home in Heaven. The goal of this book is to equip you with guiding principles from God's Word to explain how you can have God's promised victory and live a meaningful and fruitful Christian life. You can follow God's plan and experience this victory or choose Satan's plan and live defeated. The choice is yours.

Download or read book International Capital Transfers and the Choice of Production Technique written by Susan I. Ranney and published by . This book was released on 1983 with total page 38 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A two-country, two-factor, two-good world with incomplete specialization is explored in the context of international capital transfers, where the techniques of production of the same good differ between the two countries. It is shown that the terms of trade for the South will worsen with a capital transfer to the South under a wide range of assumptions about technology choice in the North, South, and North-owned sector of the South. The implied redistribution of world income, as well as the implications of a change in the production technique of the North-owned sector of the South are also examined.

Download or read book Realistic Decision Theory written by Paul Weirich and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2004-09-16 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Within traditional decision theory, common decision principles -- e.g. the principle to maximize utility -- generally invoke idealization; they govern ideal agents in ideal circumstances. In Realistic Decision Theory, Paul Weirch adds practicality to decision theory by formulating principles applying to nonideal agents in nonideal circumstances, such as real people coping with complex decisions. Bridging the gap between normative demands and psychological resources, Realistic Decision Theory is essential reading for theorists seeking precise normative decision principles that acknowledge the limits and difficulties of human decision-making.
Download or read book Ethical Choices in Contemporary Medicine written by Mary Ann Gardell Cutter and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-12-05 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Ethical Choices in Contemporary Medicine" jettisons the standard medical ethics models of "rights" language and shows how the bioethical problems that receive attention from the media and the public are related to and are explicable in terms of the epistemological foundations of science and medicine. These epistemological concerns include how medical knowledge is established (scientific validity), how medical protocols are administered (checks and balances), how medical certainty is evaluated (probability) and medical responsibility is framed (personal or collective), and how medical knowledge is transmitted (popular media versus professional journals) and how medical care is allocated (insurance policies and government subsides). The book examines the present predicaments of medicine within a broad cultural context and suggests that rational discourse and parochial ethical dialogue may be futile in the face of competing and incommensurable frameworks and agendas, attitudes and wishes. The authors show that, in the postmodern age, two interrelated issues surface when it comes to medicine. On the one hand, there is a strong critique of science and the privileges associated with the scientific discourse and, on the other, there is still a deep-seated quest for certainty in all medical matters.

Book excerpt: Among the most significant legal developments of our time is the emergence of a European private law.
